University of Florida (UF) has announced a national search for the next Dean of College of Public Health and Health Professions (PHHP).
The UF College of Public Health and Health Professions is one of 16 colleges at UF. It is focused on preserving, promoting, and improving the health and well-being of populations and individuals. The College has expanded tremendously in the last 10 years: growing its educational portfolio, increasing its student body and number of faculty, as well as more than doubling its research funding. The College is comprised of 8 departments: biostatistics; clinical and health psychology; environmental and global health; epidemiology; health services research, management, and policy; occupational therapy; physical therapy; and speech, language, and hearing sciences. By combining the population perspective of public health with the patient focus of health professions disciplines, the continuum of care is covered from prevention and treatment to rehabilitation that supports the health and well-being of communities and individuals.
The incoming Dean will be the chief academic and administrative leader of the College, and works collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students to advance the College’s mission areas. The Dean is responsible for all matters related to the administration of the College, including academic programs, faculty, students, staff, facilities, budget, alumni relations, fundraising, and coordination and collaboration with other academic and operating units of UF and UF Health.
