Assistant Professor
of Anthropology
The Department of Sociology and
Anthropology at Elon University seeks applicants for a tenure-track
position at the assistant professor level in cultural anthropology
beginning mid-August 2022. Applicants must have a PhD in
Anthropology by the time of appointment with a specialization in
medical anthropology. Applicants with expertise in indigenous
studies or experience working with indigenous populations are
especially encouraged. Geographical area is open. The successful
candidate will have a strong research agenda from which to mentor
students in undergraduate research. Teaching includes introduction
to cultural anthropology, qualitative methods, upper division
topics courses in area of specialization, rotation in the theory,
capstone seminar, and courses in the Elon Core Curriculum.
Candidates who have experience working with a diverse range of
people, and who can contribute to the climate of inclusivity are
encouraged to identify their experiences in their cover letter.
