The Network Services Department at Messiah University has an opening for a full-time System Administrator/Analyst.

Responsibilities: This position provides Systems administration, analysis, automation, and identity management for a variety of Linux and Windows servers in a hybrid VMware and cloud environment.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in IT field and 2-3 years of experience in supporting complex environments including Linux, Windows, Active Directory.  Preference given to persons having experience with VMware virtual environments and/or cloud environments, software, and systems deployment automation such as SCCM and Ansible, and PHP web apps with database connections.  

Skills and Characteristics:  In-depth technical knowledge of Linux and Windows server environments including scripting languages such as Bash, PHP, Perl, PowerShell and services such as Apache, Tomcat, and IIS; familiar with identity protocols such as LDAP, CAS, SAML and network protocols such as TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, SMTP, RADIUS, SNMP; desire to expand knowledge and skills by evaluating and testing new services and technology; ability to manage projects, be organized, and pay attention to detail; good problem-solving and technical troubleshooting skills; ability to interact and relate well with employees, students, vendors, and guests.
