Reporting to the Associate Director, the Admission Assistant is responsible for a full range of duties to support the operations of the office and the recruitment of new graduate students in the College of Arts & Sciences (CAS) and Sawyer Business School (SBS).

Primary/Principal Responsibilities:

  • Application processing, including all aspects of assembling a complete student file for review; downloading of application materials and application records, uploading of test scores and information from the admission CRM system, scanning materials, updating databases as necessary, data entry, and ensuring accuracy of information and images of materials.
  • Assisting prospective students in person, on the phone, or via email regarding graduate program offerings, application requirements, and general admission information. Assisting students through the admission pipeline (prospect through enrollment stages). Providing exceptional customer service for prospective students, including scheduling of appointments, data entry into the admission CRM system, registration for events, etc.
  • Assist in hiring, training, and day-to-day supervision of student employees.
  • Representation of Suffolk University and its graduate programs at various on and off-campus events.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Associates degree preferred
  • Strong computer skills including MS Office (Word and Excel), Outlook; experience with an admission CRM system preferred
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including comfort with public speaking
  • Ability to work some evenings/weekends and to travel to events locally
  • Must be committed to providing the highest level of customer service and responsiveness
  • Able to manage multiple projects and work collaboratively
