The Department of Finance at the Kogod School of Business in American University invites applications for a tenure-line open rank faculty position for Academic Year 2022-2023 (starting in September 2022). Salary and benefits are competitive. Candidates shall submit all application materials electronically via Interfolio.

Ideally, candidates will have (1) earned doctorate in Finance, Economics, or a closely related field from a nationally-accredited institution by August 2022; (2) a strong research program; (3) teaching excellence in Finance and related courses at all levels, 4) collegiality, good citizenship, and commitment to serve the school. Candidates in all fields of finance are encouraged to apply with an interest in Sustainability/ESG, Alternative Investments, Fintech, and issues of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion being a plus. Candidates seeking an appointment with tenure should have a demonstrated record of achievement, including high-quality scholarship, outstanding teaching potential, and active engagement in academic and professional societies. We seek candidates who, through their research, teaching, and/or service will contribute to the diversity and excellence of Kogod’s academic reputation. Candidates should also share American University’s commitment to diversity.

Candidates are expected to teach relevant courses at the graduate and undergraduate levels in both in-person and on-line formats, and participate in department, school, and university activities. They are expected to play an important role in expanding the department’s and the school's research portfolio.
