Job Summary

This position will enable a recent college graduate to obtain exposure to medical imaging research. This role will be responsible for performing uncertainty analysis on magnetic resonance fingerprinting pipelines and synthesizing results into presentations and written reports. This position will work with the primary investigator and colleagues in applied math.

Who We Are

The Professional Research Experience Program (PREP) is a special partnership between the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and the University of Colorado Boulder. PREP provides research opportunities to CU undergraduate and graduate students, as well as researchers with a Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. in NIST labs to gain research experience alongside NIST scientists.

The particular group that needs a researcher is the Magnetic Imaging Group under the Applied Physics Division at NIST.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

  • Design computational experiments to assess the performance of Magnetic Resonance Fingerprinting pipelines.
  • Lead and contribute to team research and development efforts in Magnetic Resonance Fingerprinting.
  • Possible collaboration with research partners at other sites.
  • Presentation of results internally and to the international research community via oral and written communication.


What We Can Offer

The salary range at 75% time is $38,250 - $40,500 and will be based upon relevant background and experience.

What We Require

  • B.S. degree in mathematics, physics, computational physics, or related field, and familiarity with magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).


What We Would Like You To Have
  • Previous experience with Magnetic Resonance Fingerprinting and Monte Carlo style analysis.
