A District Director of the Georgia Small Business Development Center ( SBDC ) Network is a public service faculty position reporting to the SBDC State Director. The persons in this position are responsible for assisting the SBDC State Director in the administration and oversight of a specific SBDC service district consisting of multiple centers. Regular communication with the State Director is critical to the regional management process. Duties/Responsibilities

Duties/Responsibilities
Lead district personnel in the creation, implementation, evaluation and updating of annual action plans. Ensure that the action plans are aligned with organizational objectives and strategies and are based on the specific needs of businesses within the service area. With input from Area Directors, conductquarterlyassessments of action plan accomplishments in order to maintain focus and appropriate resource deployment. Facilitate the development of new products and services that reflect market needs. Percentage Of Time Duties/Responsibilities
Monitor and evaluate the programmatic and administrative activities of the centers within the district. The District Director will have access to all files and records of the centers within the district and should conduct monthly meetings with the area directors to review performance indicators such as CIS, consultant evaluations, impact data, as well as other pertinent reports. Monitoring of selected consulting sessions and CE classes should also be conducted by the District Director for all consultants within the region on an annual basis. Program development activities should be reviewed in terms of the needs addressed, any professional development undertaken in pursuit thereof, and the outcomes generated. The District Director should also evaluate the effectiveness of public relations activities within the district. Percentage Of Time Duties/Responsibilities
Coordinate between the Area Directors and the state office the recruitment of qualified faculty and support staff to implement the programs of the SBDC within the district. Make recommendations to the Area Directors within the district regarding the training, evaluating, compensating, promoting, and retaining of existing personnel. In conjunction with the State Director, the District Director will conduct annual performance evaluations of the Area Directors and will guide Area Directors in evaluating Business Consultants and classified staff. Promote collaboration between offices and individuals. Joint projects and professional development opportunities, as well as the sharing of best practices can aide in this endeavor. Percentage Of Time Duties/Responsibilities
Continue to provide consulting at a level to be determined by the State Director. The District Director is also expected to engage in professional development, maintaining a high level of competence in his/her chosen specialty area.
