The Director of Gift Planning is responsible for developing and implementing a Planned Gifts Program as well as establishing and expanding a prospect base primarily for the capital campaign. The Director of Gift Planning is responsible for extensive fieldwork that includes field prospect research, prospect identification, prospect cultivation, and personal solicitation.

Responsibilities:
  • Make in-person solicitation and cultivation visits with over 200 prospects and donors each year.
  • Identify and contact prospects and donors to arrange in-person visits.
  • Perform follow-up activities for in-person visits, including prospect contact, proposal preparation, record keeping, report preparation.
  • Prepare tri-annual planned giving newsletter for mailing to selected constituents.
  • Provide stewardship recognition to prospects and donors.
  • Integrate planned giving activities with other University Relations initiatives and programs.
  • Maintains a safe working environment within and around their facilities and associated equipment and supplies including, but not limited to, obtaining Safety Data Sheet (SDS) information pertaining to any hazards associated with their work environment.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree required. Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Minimum 4 years fund raising experience including 1 year of major gift experience.
