The Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), part of the State
University of New York and an internationally renowned college of
art, design, business and technology with a strong emphasis on
liberal arts, invites applications for a Temporary Full Time
Ambulatory Care Registered Nurse in Health Services.
Reports to the Director of Health Services, demonstrate clinical
judgment and skills in the full range of functions of a
registered professional nurse. Identifies and provides nursing
diagnoses and treatment for actual or potential health
problems through utilization of the nursing process.
- Provides nursing care for ambulatory clients.
- Triage/assess patients including crisis intervention, acute
medical/surgical complaints and women's health and refers
- Implements Health Service projects, guidelines and
responsibilities as outlined by the Director of Health
- Participates in patient counseling and outreach programs.
- Coordinates care for patients with medical, surgical, women's
health and emotional problems.
- Administers appropriate medications and treatments as
prescribed by Health Services providers.
- Engages in periodic self-evaluation, participates in peer
review and quality assurance.
- Provides health education.
- Responsible for lab documentation.
- Responsible for medical and pharmaceutical supplies.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred and Current New
York State Registered Nurse license required
- Minimum 3 years recent medical/surgical experience required
(including ambulatory care, emergency room triage, or occupational
