Responsibilities
Part-time, 20 hours per week

The Service Desk Supervisor position oversees daily operations Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. They manage, supervise, and provide public face-to-face and online customer service at Library Service Desk. In addition, this position participates in circulation services, student supervision, new student and employee training, and Link+ operations. It also serves as back- up to all Access Services Departments, ILL, Reserves, Billing, and Systems. Contributes to the development of Access Operations policies and procedures, explicitly representing the needs of Access services. Works independently with minimal supervision, exercises discretion in applying rules, regulations, and procedures. The position is responsible for representing the Library to patrons during operating hours. Including but not limited to general Access Services policies and operational procedures. Reports to the Head of Access Services.

Experience and Qualifications
Education:
REQUIRED: BA or Equivalent
PREFERRED:

Experience: (years required and applicable field of experience): Required: 3-5 years working in a library setting. Experience in an academic and/or research library and experience working with Sierra ,Link+, ILLiad, LibCal or RAPID ILL Preferred.

Skills/Abilities: (e.g. computer skills, written & verbal skills, trades, laws, procedures, technical) Minimum 3-5 years direct/related experience that provides understanding of library or service functions. Strong commitment and ability to deliver high quality customer service. Solid experience with standard computer software such as MS Word, Excel, e-mail and calendar software, familiarity with library ILS Sierra, Illiad and ability to learn and master new software, systems and technology. Experience working with automated library systems. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written. Demonstrated organizational skills including ability to manage competing priorities and work under pressure. Demonstrated initiative, flexibility, and ability to tolerate ambiguity and to work and learn in a rapidly changing environment. Ability to work collaboratively and to interact effectively with a diverse group of people. Ability to identify problems and carry out solutions independently or in collaboration with others.

Licenses & Certifications (e.g. CPA, RN, etc.):
PREFERRED (not required): Certificate in a library and information technology (LIT) program.

Other Requirements: Regular schedule 9:00am-3:00pm Wednesday/ Thursday 8:30am-5pm Friday. Must accommodate work schedule exceptions during extended hours, holidays, intersessions, short staffing, and summer.
