Job Description

The Nuclear Engineering Program at Virginia Tech invites applications for a Collegiate Faculty position. This is a renewable, non-tenure track contract position at Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level depending on the qualifications. We are seeking candidates motivated to contribute to a collegial, interdisciplinary community with a strong tradition of both fundamental and applied research.

We are seeking candidates committed to a career in teaching. Professional experience is preferred in the area of operations with research reactors, Naval reactors, power reactors, or other nuclear facilities. The candidate will be responsible for primarily teaching undergraduate courses and some graduate courses in both regular classrooms and distance-learning settings, and for mentoring and advising students. We are seeking candidates who have a broad teaching interest in all nuclear engineering subareas.

Required Qualifications

The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. degree in nuclear engineering or a closely related discipline.
