Nursing Director

 

Rogue Community College welcomes applications for a full-time Nursing Director.

 

Position Summary

This position is responsible for the overall planning, direction, organization, and operation of the nursing and practical nursing programs. Provides leadership in the development, expansion, revision, improvement, and maintenance of the nursing and practical nursing programs. Included within the scope of this position is the supervision of faculty and classified faculty, classified, and student worker personnel who support the Nursing Program. Represents the college in the community to negotiate, establish and maintain effective working relationships, and contracts with federal, state, and local agencies as well as critical industry partners.  Provides leadership for fiscal planning and budget administration to accomplish goals within established budget processes for the programs within the department.

Compensation

This is a full-time Exempt/Managerial (100%, 246 days/year) position in the Nursing department. Position will be based primarily at the Table Rock Campus, but may also travel to other RCC campuses as needed. Starting compensation will be based on Grade L of the 21-22 salary schedule, in accordance with initial placement per the current Management, Administrative, and Confidential Employee Handbook. Consideration will be given to related experience and educational achievement. Exempt positions are renewed on an annual basis at the discretion of the College President.

 

Requirements

Education:  A Master’s degree in nursing with documentation of preparation and experience in curriculum and teaching in a nursing program.

License:  Current unencumbered Oregon R.N. license and a valid Oregon Driver’s License, and proof of an acceptable driving record at time of hire, is required.

Experience: Five years of full-time nursing experience, at least 2 years must have been in patient care nursing and at least 3 years must have been in a Nurse Educator or administrative position in a PN or RN nursing education program. High fidelity simulation, and a broad clinical base preferred.

Any satisfactory equivalent combination of education and experience which ensures the ability to perform the essential functions of the position may substitute for the requirement(s).
