Job Description:

The Development Specialist reports directly to, and works closely with, the Executive Director of Development on a wide variety of administrative and executive duties, special projects, and initiatives involving the RCC Foundation, College grants, and alumni. The Development Specialist is responsible for assisting in the planning and coordinating projects from initiation to completion.

  • Maintain database for potential donors, donors, and alumni.
  • Assist with purchases for the Foundation and department.
  • Plan and coordinate meetings and events for the Foundation, alumni and department.
  • Support the solicitation of donors.
  • Work with department and marketing to maintain social media presence as appropriate.
  • Assist in the process of awarding scholarships to students.
  • Assist with grant applications.
  • Research potential donors and grant opportunities
  • Be knowledgeable about all areas on campus and new initiatives in order to best identify opportunities and to represent the College at events as appropriate.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Supervision Exercised: May supervise student workers and/or event staff


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Ability to manage confidential student, personnel and financial information
  • Demonstrated ability to manage relationships with colleagues and stakeholders
  • Ability to successfully multi-task and manage various project elements simultaneously
  • Experience in database management including use of Sales Force, Razor's Edge, or Donor Perfect.
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills; superior presentation skills a plus.
  • Excellent computer and technology skills
  • Demonstrated sensitivity to, and understanding of, diverse socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds.
