Primary Function

2. Responds to the public (in person, telephone, and e-mail) regarding services offered by Testing Services. This includes interpreting these services, accommodating requests for them, and directing faculty, staff, and students to appropriate offices for additional services on campus.

3. Maintains and interacts with selected Testing Services’ record systems. This includes scanning tests and evaluations, locating data and ensuring their accuracy.

Duties and Responsibilities (generally)

A. Primary Functions

2. Responds to the public (in person, telephone, and e-mail) regarding services offered by Testing Services. This includes interpreting these services, accommodating requests for them, and directing faculty, staff, and students to appropriate offices for additional services on campus.

3. Maintains and interacts with selected Testing Services’ record systems. This includes scanning tests and evaluations, locating data and ensuring their accuracy.

B. Organizational Relationship –The position reports to the associate director but may accept direction from the director.
Minimum Required Qualifications for this position

1. High school graduation or equivalent

2. Any one or any combination of the following types of preparation:
(a) credit for college course work in any curriculum
(b) progressively more advanced work experience and/or on-the-job training in the administration of aptitude, achievement, and other educational measurements at the high school or college level that totals 1.0 unit according to the following conversion rates:
  • 120 semester hours of “a” = 1.0 unit
  • 3 years of “b” = 1.0 unit.



(Amounts of education, experience, or on-the-job training less than those listed above should be converted to decimal equivalents of 1.0 unit and added together when computing combinations of the different types of preparation.)

3. Any one or any combination of:
(a) college credit in fields related to educational testing (such as educational measurement, tests and measurement, or psychological testing)
(b) responsible work experience and/or on-the-job training in test administration methods and techniques that totals 6 semester hours/months.
These 6 semester hours/months may be used in satisfying requirement 2 as well.
Specialty Factors (Additional Required Qualifications)

Education and Experience Preferred

The person in the position must have excellent English speaking skills.

He/she must possess a valid Illinois driver’s license.

The person will have an obligation to become knowledgeable about the range of Testing Services’ programs.
List the knowledge, skills, and abilities critical to the performance of this position.

The position will deal with examination registration forms, administration scripts, booklets, answer sheets, results, correspondence (written and oral), and understanding of our fees for exams. It requires familiarization with policies and procedures of the University, and in particular, Testing Services. Skills needed to perform in this position include supervisory/leadership, planning, organizational, interpersonal, accuracy at proofreading written and numerical documents, competence in operating a computer in specific areas of on-line computer based testing procedures.
Working Hours
M-F 8a-4:30p, some nights/weekends
Minimum Pay Rate (Hourly or Monthly)
$12.56 per hour
