Minimum Education/Training/Experience
Completion of an approved technical/vocational/apprenticeship program, or four (4) years of journey level electrical experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above. Minimum Knowledge & Skills
· Latest version of the National Electrical Code ( NEC );
· Electrical system design;
· Blueprint reading/interpretation;
· Safety procedures;
· OSHA lockout/tagout procedures and NFPA70E requirements;
· Record keeping principles. Preferred Knowledge & Skills
· Using applicable tools and equipment;
· Performing journeyman level trades activities;
· Reading blue prints;
· Troubleshooting electrical systems;
· Preparing and maintaining a variety of reports and records;
· Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction. Licensing/Certification Requirements
· Valid driver’s license;
· Valid State of Texas Journeyman Electrician License. Job Duties
1. Repair and maintain electrical systems in College buildings and facilities.
2. Oversees inventory of supplies and equipment to ensure adequate stock and functionality is maintained.
3. Inspects facilities, systems, and fixtures and ensures periodic servicing if necessary.
4. Performs other duties as needed. Physical Requirements
Positions in this class typically require: climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.

Heavy Work: Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of forces constantly to move objects.

Incumbents may be subjected to moving mechanical parts, electrical currents, vibrations, fumes, dusts, poor ventilation, chemicals, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting, work space restrictions, intense noises and travel. Minimum Salary Range $46,389 Mid Point Salary Range .
