As a part of the Continuing Education Division, the Corporate Training Salesperson collaborates with the Continuing Education staff, division deans, and academic department chairs to develop and implement comprehensive educational solutions to meet the needs of business, industry, community, and governmental entities. An emphasis on Continuing Medical Education will be a sales priority. The position reports to the Associate Dean, Continuing Education. Minimum Education/Training/Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Education, or related field; three (3) years or more experience in sales, developing workforce training programs, or related experience. The candidate must have robust communication, presentation, and organizational skills. Preferred Education/Training/Experience
Preferred: Five years experience developing workforce training, sales in a higher education environment, experience with instructional design, and Andragogy.

• Ability to customize training content and preferred delivery method to fit client’s objectives
• Sales strategies.
• Supervisory principles for managing subject matter experts ( SME ) and adjunct faculty.
• Budget planning and monitoring.
• Applicable computer programs and equipment.
• Problem-solving.
• Demonstrated understanding of basic principles of Adult Learning Theory/Andragogy.
• Compiling and summarizing information and preparing special reports.
• Organizing own work, setting priorities, and meeting critical deadlines.
• Professional communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisors, external stakeholders, and businesses sufficient to exchange and convey information.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and a high degree of accuracy.
• Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects simultaneously while meeting demanding deadlines.
• Ability to create and deliver internal and external communication plans.
• Understanding of, sensitivity to, and respect for the diverse academic, socio-economic, ethnic, cultural, disability, religious background, and sexual orientation of community college students.

Preferred Knowledge & Skills
• Demonstrated success in assessing training needs, developing, and implementing training programs.
• Curriculum development.
• Advanced sales training techniques.
• Advanced knowledge of Adult Learning Theory/Andragogy and learning styles.
• Ability to assess the needs of local industry and provide for those needs by developing appropriate training programs.
• Research and implement alternative delivery systems, including those that utilize emerging technologies, locally and nationally, to provide optimum access, training, and professional content for existing and new client populations and for possible future implementation.
• Prepare sales forecasting.
• Selects assigns, orients, trains, and evaluates assigned instructors and subject matter experts ( SME ) performance.

None Job Duties
• Develop, market, and implement new opportunities for contract training, individual educational product sales, and customized training
• Collaborate and work with existing clients to maintain client relationships
• Identifying business opportunities, negotiate and close customized business solution sales and maintain extensive knowledge of current market conditions within the Gulf Coast region.
• Plan and coordinate the penetration of new markets.
• Collaborate proactively and respond to requests from employers and business and industry sector partnerships.
• Cultivate business relationships through networking, industry events, and direct marketing.
• Maintain a system of employer contacts and communications
• Assesses resources and time constraints in proposition delivery for project(s).
• Work cross-functionally within the division and across the College to develop and deliver training solutions.
• Provides leadership for the preparation of the Department’s budget to include assisting in budget implementations, forecasting funds needed for additional resources to execute training needs.
• Research and implement alternative delivery systems that utilize emerging technologies to provide optimum access, training, and professional content for existing and new client populations and possible future implementation.
• Selects, assigns, orients, trains, and evaluates the performance of instructors.
• Evaluate instructor performance with in-class observations and the effectiveness of training programs, providing recommendations for improvement.
• Researches and stays current on regulatory issues and advises the College on changes/revisions necessary to ensure College compliance with regulatory rules, regulations, and issues.
• Meet established quarterly sales goals.
• Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.

Physical Requirements
Positions in this class typically require stooping, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, fingering, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions. Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met Minimum Salary Range $51,028 Mid Point Salary Range . Compensation includes a base salary plus commission.
