Compensation and Benefits

Anticipated Hiring Salary: $4,283 per month

Full classification Salary Range: $4,283 - $7,430 per month
  • This is a full-time (equivalent to 40 hours per week), probationary, non-exempt position.
The CSU system provides a comprehensive benefit package that includes medical, dental and vision plans, membership in the California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS), sick and vacation time, and 14 paid holidays a year. Job Summary

Under the supervision of the department chair, this position will provide support for the Department’s mission by maintaining the laboratories, shops and supplies and assisting with instructional support under the direction of the faculty. This position will also serve as the Department’s safety coordinator.

Key Qualifications
  • Knowledge of methods, materials, tools, equipment, policies, procedures, principles, practices, OSHA, and Industrial Safety rules.
  • Knowledge of electricity, electronics, motors, pumps, PLC and shop machinery and machine tools.
  • Ability to plan, schedule and supervise the work of students.
  • Organizational and time management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
  • Ability to assess safety and training needs and conduct training to ensure students and staff safely operate vehicles, equipment, tools, supplies and materials.
  • Ability to operate, repair and complete general maintenance on technical and scientific equipment;

Education and Experience
  • Equivalent to four years of experience providing instructional support services for a related unit or discipline, or in producing materials or supplies or repairing equipment in a discipline related to specialty area to which assigned.
    OR
  • Equivalent to two years of college with 16 semester units in courses involving extensive use of materials, supplies, or equipment and in a discipline related to the area to which assigned may be substituted for one year of the required experience.
    OR
  • Equivalent to four years of college with 16 semester units in courses involving extensive use of materials, supplies, or equipment and in a discipline related to the specialty area to which assigned may be substituted for two years of the required experience.

The Department of Industrial Technology is accredited by the Association of Technology Management and Applied Engineering. The Department offers both B.S. and M.S. degree programs. The Department’s mission is to prepare students for technical careers in industry, agriculture, government and education.
