Department Summary
The UO Department of Human Physiology is home to undergraduate and graduate students who desire strong training in human physiology and anatomy that will prepare them for careers in medicine, allied health professions, and biomedical research. Additionally, the department conducts cutting edge research in all aspects of physiology using animal and human models to study health and disease. Position Summary
The Department of Human Physiology at the University of Oregon invites applications for potential research assistant and associate positions. Positions are available on an ongoing basis to conduct research within different research groups. Appointments are funding contingent and temporary in nature, potentially renewable for up to a total of three years. Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Bioengineering, Physiology, Biology, Neuroscience, Kinesiology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Immunology, or a related field
  
• Experience in a research laboratory
  
  Professional Competencies
  
• Ability to prioritize work demands, and coordinate research protocols with staff, students, and faculty
  
• Excellent organizational skills and careful attention to details
  
• Ability to communicate effectively, in both written and oral formats
  
• Ability to work both independently, in a small group setting, and one-on-one with students, other staff, and collaborators in a positive and productive manner
  
• Ability to work efficiently and skillfully with a variety of diverse staff and collaborators
  
• High level of self-motivation and integrity
  
  Preferred Qualifications (Not Required)
  
• Master's or PhD degree
  
• Proficient in basic laboratory skills
  
• Peer-reviewed publications in relevant fields described above
  
• Experience writing and/or amending IACUC and IRB protocols and/or other regulatory documents
  
• Experience with university purchasing and travel
