Department Summary
The UO Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry offers undergraduate major and minor degrees in chemistry and biochemistry, and graduate degrees at the masters and PhD level.

Our undergraduate program provides training for students planning careers in the chemical and biological sciences and for those in biology, health related disciplines, earth sciences, secondary education, business, journalism and law.

Position Summary
The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of Oregon seeks to create a pool of applicants for Pro Tempore Research Assistant positions conducting research under the direction of a principal investigator, and Pro Tempore Research Associate positions conducting research with only general guidance.

Positions are limited duration appointments potentially renewable for up to a total of three years. In limited circumstances, there is the possibility of renewal beyond three years based on programmatic need, funding, and performance. Salary is dependent on education and experience.

Minimum Requirements
  • Ph.D. is required for Research Associate
  • Bachelor's required for Research Assistant, plus appropriate experience.
