Job Summary
Assist Director of Student Media with all planning and execution of the student media program; oversee day-to-day operations; and supervise and mentor students in areas of video news, video production, and news for marginalized audiences.

Responsibilities
  • Perform related duties as assigned to support the mission of the University
  • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external groups
  • Interpret, monitor, and analyze information regarding operating policies and procedures
  • Manage budgets
  • Act as primary advisor, trainer, and coach for three outlets: Your Newsroom, George-Anne Films, and The Deep Dive
  • Act as secondary advisor for students in all other outlets in the Office of Student Media
  • Perform basic and advanced administrative duties, including processing student employment and payroll records, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and purchasing
  • Work cooperatively with students, vendors, faculty, and other staff
  • Assist Director of Student Media in all aspects of strategic planning, execution of initiatives, promotion of student access, and relationships with stakeholders
  • Organize, coordinate and execute special projects and or/day-to-day operations
  • Assist in program planning and development
  • Coordinate staff support services to meet goals and deadlines

Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree

Required Experience
  • Three (3) or more years of related work experience

Preferred Qualifications
Additional Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with higher education student affairs practices

Preferred Experience
  • Experience in television news or other video news platforms, including reporting and video editing.
  • Experience serving marginalized audiences as a journalist.
  • Experience mentoring journalists from marginalized communities.

Proposed Salary
$40,200 - $47,476
