Baptist Health Sciences University (BHSU) invites applications for the position of Dean of the Allied Health Division.   Baptist University, located in Memphis, Tennessee, is an accredited private Christian specialized post-secondary degree-granting institution, which offers a variety of degrees in health related fields.

 

The Dean of Allied Health provides overall leadership for:  Associate of Science Degree in Neurodiagnostic Technology and Surgical Tech as well as eight baccalaureate majors; Medical Radiography, Diagnostic Medical Sonography, Nuclear Medicine Technology, Neurodiagnostic Technology, Radiation Therapy, Respiratory Care, Medical Laboratory Science and Medical Imaging Sciences.

 

The Dean of Allied Health reports directly to the Provost and has oversight of the division budget, faculty/staff development and evaluation.  He/she is responsible for division strategic planning, accreditation of each program and program development/evaluation.

 

The successful candidate will have obtained an earned doctorate or have completed one by the hiring date in a discipline related to either curriculum and instruction, academic administration and/or leadership or adult education, from an accredited institution.  The successful candidate will have:

  1. Knowledge and experience in educational practices and procedures; assessment of student learning; and various teaching modalities;
  2. Five (5) years of progressively responsible and significant educational leadership at a baccalaureate granting institution;
  3. Five (5) years of teaching experience;
  4. The ability to develop, manage, promote and evaluate academic/educational programs.
