Anticipated Start Date:
The Executive Assistant provides managerial, administrative,
professional, and confidential assistance as required to support
the President of CT State and the CT State Cabinet. The position is
required to have extensive cooperative and collaborative
relationships with staff, professionals, administrators, the public
and with professionals in peer organizations and professional
Incumbents must possess proven ability to effectively work with a
culturally, linguistically, and ethnically diverse faculty, staff,
and student. They are expected to have excellent oral and written
communication skills along with strong Information technology
literacy skills such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook,
Associate degree or an equivalent combination of education and
experience in administrative or executive secretarial fields.
Successful Candidate must have or must possess:
- Principles of secretarial practice with emphasis in quality
production of correspondence and reports.
- Office administration including materials and records
organization, and scheduling meeting and events.
- Experience interacting with the public in a professional
- Proven history of strict confidentiality.
- Methods and techniques of operating in an office environment
requiring organizational dignity.

Example of Job Duties:
- Certified Administrative Professional or other professional
- Three (3) or more years' experience serving as an
administrative assistant or higher.
- Experience providing administrative support to a director level
or higher administrator.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related
- Three (3) or more years' experience with preparing and managing
- Professional work experience in higher education.
- Professional work experience in customer service and/or
- Bilingual or multilingual.
Under the direction of the President, the Executive Assistant is
the CT State and intra-collegiate liaison and is accountable for
coordination of schedules, meetings, and events, correspondence,
budget, report tracking and preparation, office supply management,
and special assignments and projects.
