The Surgical Fellowship Coordinator will participate in the
development of standard operating procedures, policies, and
curriculum for the programs, while managing the daily operations of
five surgical fellowship programs (Colorectal Surgery, Complex
General Surgical Oncology, Endocrine Surgery, Minimally Invasive
Surgery, and Surgical Critical Care). This person reports to the
Education Program Manager and works collaboratively with the
Directors of the fellowship programs, the Vice Chair for Education,
the UW Health Graduate Medical Education Office, and the Department
of Surgery faculty and staff who assist in providing educational
experiences for our fellows.

Degree and Area of Specialization:
Bachelors degree - required. Preferably in education, health care
administration or closely related field.
Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:
- Demonstrated strong independent time-management, attention to
detail and organization required.
- Proven creative problem-solving skills, ability to manage and
lead multiple simultaneous projects, and flexibility in
communication practices is required.
- Strong written and oral communication is required.
- Experience in educational administration and/or office management
in an academic health care setting is preferred.
- Previous experience working within the University of Wisconsin
system and/or Graduate Medical Education (GME) as well as
familiarity with the accrediting bodies is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is preferred.
Prefix assignment determined by years of relevant work experience.
A minimum of 7 years of experience is required for an appointment
at the senior level.
