Position Summary:

Directs and oversees advising services and staff within the Wisconsin School of Business Admitted Student Unit. Works collaboratively across all levels of the institution to coordinate services, ensure delivery of high impact advising, and strives to create a welcoming, equitable, and inclusive work environment.

Degree and Area of Specialization:

Master's degree required.

Ideal candidates will demonstrate the following:

- Experience supporting traditionally under-represented student populations
- Experience supervising a diverse group of professional staff
- Ability to manage a large portfolio of projects and initiatives

- Lifelong learning mindset and a commitment to stay on the cutting edge of service provision to create innovative ways to serve students
- Solutions-oriented approach to addressing questions, concerns and problem solving
- Ability to successfully navigate ambiguity
- Openness to some work flexible hours (including evenings and weekends and summer 1st year student orientation periods as necessary)

Preferred candidates will have:

- Five years professional work experience preferably in supporting traditionally marginalized students, leading teams, student services, advising, or academic success coaching
- In depth knowledge of Advising at UW-Madison, SOAR operations, and supporting Academic Advisors.
- Familiarity with the 11 Business Majors and general education requirements both at UW Madison and the Wisconsin School of Business
- Experience managing budgets
- Experience supervising both University and Academic Staff.
