The position involves teaching assignments
predominately at the MSW level and related
responsibilities that include day, evening, and weekends and
delivering asynchronous and synchronous online courses. While the
courses are taught online, telecommuting is not permitted.
On-campus faculty presence is required to participate in curriculum
development, student advisement, and service at the departmental,
college, and university level and active engagement within the
community.
Our online MSW program is CSWE accredited, student-driven, and possesses a strong potential for continued growth. All tenure-track faculty are expected to demonstrate a commitment to teaching excellence, an ongoing program of research, publication, and/or other professional activities designed to enrich student learning and service to the community and profession.
There are endless possibilities for the practitioner and scholar in the department through our firm commitment to serving students and the community through practice supervision, robust Title IV-E training, continuing education, events like the Opioid Symposium, and engagement in all levels of practice within the region. The successful candidate will work collaboratively within the department and university, as well as with the regional community; engage in advising activities; teach assigned courses in the graduate program; engage in scholarly activity; provide service to the institution, profession, and community; assist in program changes that are aligned with best practices and CSWE standards; and, participate in program accreditation requirements and activities. Education/Knowledge
Master of Social Work (MSW) from a CSWE accredited institution, no substitutions considered. A doctorate in social work or complementary program is preferred and is required for consideration of tenure.
Doctorate in SW or a closely related field is preferred; evidence of teaching and/or advising at the postsecondary level; experience with online teaching and course development; familiarity with grant writing; practice experience in serving those with substance use issues, with Veterans, or in a clinical setting is ideal.
Strong interpersonal and collaborative ability, public speaking, scholarly and service driven, and adherence to NASW ethical principles and standards. Required Experience
