TheLiturgy Coordinator,liturgist and musician, creates the prayer and worship plan for the St. Catherine community inclusive of students, faculty, staff, and alumni. This staff member is a member of theCSSJstaff, and supports the efforts of the Office of Intercultural Engagement and Social Justice (OIESJ).

Responsibilities include:
  • Organize the Sunday Mass community liturgy advisory committee in development of worship plans for the liturgical year.
  • Create retreats and prayer experiences for students, faculty, staff, and alumni
  • Work collaboratively with offices across campus to plan and implement celebrations and events.
  • Recruit and direct a student choir to provide engagement with music, choral singing, and participation with other students
  • Provide spiritual reflection opportunities for student spiritual growth and leadership development.
  • Train and develop student leadership by involving students in the process of liturgy development.
  • Capitalize on the leadership of faculty, staff, alumni, and members of the Sunday Mass community by inviting their participation in the preparation and/or delivery of mass.
  • Work effectively with people who have varying views around Catholic and interfaith worship practice
  • Balance goals for student growth and development with goals for inspiring inclusion of staff, faculty, alumni, and the Sunday Mass community.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree
  • Three years of professional liturgical and musical experience
  • Three years of experience working with young people and inter-generational groups
  • Experience with the Catholic Liturgical and Sacramental Tradition
  • Expertise with Roman Catholic liturgical practices and rubrics

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in Catholic higher education
  • Knowledge of interfaith worship practice
  • Membership in Association of Liturgical Ministers or National Association of Pastoral Musicians or other professional organizations.
