The full-time professional tutor assists and coaches College of the Mainland nursing students and in becoming more successful and independent learners. The full–time tutor helps integrate effective learning and study strategies and clarifies and reinforces content, assignments and material for nursing students. Minimum Education/Training/Experience
Master’s of Science in Nursing. Preferred Education/Training/Experience
Tutoring or teaching experience is highly preferred. Minimum Knowledge & Skills
Ability to work in a collaborative environment.

Ability to tutor nursing students in a variety of subject matter skills and competencies.

Proficient verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports.

Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality.

Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.

Fluency with MS Office, including MS Word and PowerPoint; ability to learn additional software as needed.

Operating standard office, computer, and video recording equipment. Preferred Knowledge & Skills
Teaching or tutoring experience preferred. Licensing/Certification Requirements
Active and Unencumbered Registered Nurse License in Texas Job Duties
Provide group and individual tutoring to Vocational Nursing, Associate of Applied Science in Nursing, and RN to BSN students.

Collaborate with faculty regarding attendance and an overview of tutoring subject matter.

Collaborate with the Part-Time Tutor to ensure all tutoring needs are covered.

Oversee the nursing remediation process.

Recommend curricular updates as appropriate.

Attend nursing committee meetings as applicable.

Tutor students in the skills and simulation labs to reinforce content and/or concepts. Physical Requirements
Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.

May have tutoring responsibilites in the nuring skills and/or simulation labs.
