Temple Health Institutional Advancement Office is searching for an innovative, motivated, and entrepreneurial candidate to join our goal-oriented team as the Associate Director of Development, Clinical Programs This position is integral in developing philanthropic partnerships to further Temple Health’s groundbreaking research, discovery of new and improved medical treatments, unparalleled clinical care, and highest quality academic education. 

Reporting to the Senior Director of Development, Clinical Programs, the Associate Director, Clinical Programs will coordinate key fundraising initiatives, develop strategic internal and external relationships, and secures major and mid-level gifts from grateful patients and their families, corporate partners, and friends in-support of Temple Health’s vital work and identified priorities.  This position will have a dynamic mix of duties and will provide the opportunity for the candidate able to bring an entrepreneurial, fresh perspective to frontline fundraising for this rapidly growing enterprise. The ideal candidate will have a background in health care development, strong attention to detail, and superior interpersonal and communication skills. 

Responsibilities include: identifies, cultivates, solicits, and stewards grateful patients, hospital friends, and graduate medical education prospects, adhering to metrics regarding contacts, visits, solicitations, and gift closures; performs direct outreach to prospects, partnering with leaders as appropriate, and utilizes database to track and manage information including timely and accurate documentation of meetings and conversations with donors, prospects, and constituents; assists with implementing overall strategies to meet or exceed fundraising goals and expectations and adheres to designated metrics regarding contacts, visits, proposals, and gift closures; provides management and oversight for the relationship with wealth management screening tool (DonorScape) to ensure timely and relevant grateful patient data is received and research current and prospective donors on a regular basis to determine philanthropic capacity; ignites the spirit of giving and increase philanthropic awareness by building strong relationships with Temple Health colleagues, physicians, and nurses; aligns institutional and clinical philanthropic priorities with funding opportunities and collaborate with gift administration and stewardship colleagues on the reporting of caregiver recognition gifts and providing updates on clinical fundraising initiatives; provides project management and leadership for clinical advancement services, including data acquisition, prospect and pipeline management and regular reporting; ensures accountability for meeting deadlines, responding to grateful patient inquiries, and other department requests; participates in reporting and evaluation of strategic plan performance to ensure personal, program and department goals are being met; supports fundraising initiatives in conjunction with THIA signature events, including sponsorship solicitation; preparing proposals, reports, and memos; participating in Temple Health and University committees and planning sessions; representing the Office of Institutional Advancement and Temple Health at meetings and events. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience: 

Bachelor's degree and at least five years of fundraising experience in a clinical/healthcare or higher-ed setting. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Required Skills and Abilities: 

*Demonstrated success with the development and execution of fundraising strategies that include the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of donors and prospects
*Demonstrated entrepreneurial instincts and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to exercise creativity and initiative in achieving fundraising goals, and willingness to learn
*Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to understand complicated medical information and then translate and communicate the information to diverse audiences in a compelling manner
*Demonstrated superior interpersonal skills with the ability to develop effective relationships with physicians, donors, prospects, administrators and staff

*Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to project management
*Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative team environment

*Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office, including Teams, Banner, FPM, and DonorScape a plus
*Ability to travel and work evening and weekend hours as required.

Preferred:

*CFRE, PlusDelta, or other formal fundraising training completed.

This position requires a background check.
