The HTC Honors College at Coastal Carolina University
invites applications for a full-time Lecturer position in
Interdisciplinary Studies and Sustainability, beginning Spring
2022.
The individual hired for this position will have
responsibilities in teaching in the area of Women’s and Gender
Studies. They will teach Introduction to Women’s and Gender Studies
and Gender, Sexuality, Race, and Class in Popular Culture, along
with courses in their specific area of expertise. The teaching load
for a Lecturer is typically five courses per semester and may
include face-to-face, hybrid and/or online
deliveries.
The ideal candidate will have an interdisciplinary Master’s
degree in a field related to Women’s and Gender Studies and
demonstrate a commitment to diversity, student learning, and
inclusive pedagogy. Extensive experience teaching Introduction to
Women’s and Gender Studies is a requirement for this position.
Preference will begiven to individuals with expertise in feminist
community activism and engagement. Exemplary teachers who have
experience using innovative and active learning approaches are
especially encouraged to apply. Evidence of collegiate teaching
experience, with a focus on experiential learning, is preferred.
Candidates must have the ability to interact effectively with
colleagues and students, both in the college and across the
campus. Individuals must be academically or professionally
qualified at time of hire.
