The School of Aeronautics and Astronautics at Purdue University invites applications for a non-tenure track Faculty of Engineering Practice position at the rank of assistant, associate, or full Professor of Engineering Practice.  Purdue University seeks to attract exceptional candidates with interests and expertise in aerodynamics and aircraft design.  Successful candidates must hold an advanced degree (MS with thesis or PhD) in aeronautical or aerospace engineering—or a related discipline—and have significant experience as a practicing engineer in aerodynamics and aircraft design-relevant activities. 

Candidates must demonstrate potential to integrate their professional practice with education and industry engagement / outreach programs in the School of Aeronautics and Astronautics.  The successful candidate will apply their experience to provide students with design-build-test activities, aircraft design courses and aerodynamics courses at the undergraduate and graduate level.  The 4-by-6-foot Boeing Wind Tunnel is available at Purdue to aid these activities.  Collaboration with other aircraft expertise in the School is encouraged.  The successful candidate will develop national recognition via activities such as: success of student teams in classes and projects, publications and presentations about educational and / or applied research activities, engagement with industry and government organizations, participation in externally funded research activities, or other impactful achievements.
