Associate Director of Student Health Services
Under the supervision of the Executive Director of the Kean Wellness Center, the Associate Director (Associate Director III) assists in managing the daily operations of Student Health Services. The Associate Director supervises clinical staff; oversees policies and procedures utilized in Student Health Services; acts with the authority of the Executive Director in their absence for operations related to Student Health Services; and does related work as required.
The Associate Director also acts as a Nurse Practitioner, providing appropriate preventive and episodic health care to students. The nurse practitioner assists students in identifying health risks and in assuming responsibility for the prevention of illness and the promotion, maintenance and restoration of health, as well as the appropriate utilization of health care resources. This position requires travel and a flexible schedule including evening and weekend hours.
This is not a remote position and requires physical presence on campus as determined by the Supervisor. It requires working on campus during the COVID-19 pandemic and interacting directly with students following all procedures and protocols set forth in the University’s Restart Plan and any procedures/protocols created through additional correspondence.
Qualifications: Master’s degree from an accredited college in Nursing and two years of professional experience as a Nurse Practitioner is required. One year of nursing experience must be in an administrative or supervisory capacity. Other requirements include: current licensure as an Advanced Practice Nurse by the New Jersey State Board of Nursing; current licensure as a Registered Nurse in good standing by the New Jersey State Board of Nursing; current certification as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP); and current Basic Life Support (BLS) for the Professional Rescuer certification by the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association. Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential.
