Position Summary:

The University of Wisconsin-Madison is seeking to fill a faculty position with a specialization in Legal and Ethical Considerations in Precision Medicine/Legal Ethics. The ideal candidate would have expertise in both legal/ethical questions related to precision medicine and professional responsibility/ethics for lawyers.The faculty hire for this position will have a tenure home in the Law School.

Principal Duties:

Teach professional responsibility/legal ethics and other courses in the Law School.
Engage in research and public service expected of UW faculty members.
Collaborate with other faculty in the human cancer genetics/precision medicine cluster on the UW-Madison campus.

J.D. required.

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

We seek entry-level and lateral candidates who show scholarly excellence and/or promise, as evidenced by publications, works in progress, or a research agenda. Applicants should have relevant experience such as teaching, legal practice, or a judicial clerkship. Excellent academic record in law school and experience as a judicial law clerk are highly preferred. Experience with and publications based on interdisciplinary and collaborative research on the ethics of precision medicine required.

Once hired, the Law School and University evaluate faculty members and determine advancement based on contributions in research, teaching, and service to the Law School, the university, and the profession. Candidates must meet criteria for a tenure-track faculty appointment at UW-Madison.
