Position Summary:

Serve as Assistant to the Head Basketball Coach and the Director of Basketball Operations, and also as a resource and aid to three assistant coaches and the support staff. This position is responsible for coordination of Head Coach?s schedule, administrative support for Head and Assistant Coaches, incoming communication pertaining to Men?s Basketball, all aspects of recruiting, preparation of expense reports, and overall office management.

1. Knowledge of NCAA and Big Ten rules and regulations
2. Effective decision making skills
3. Program planning and the ability to identify and develop alternative courses of action
4. Knowledge of interpersonal relationship skills
5. Knowledge of office management practices and skills
6. Organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks and details efficiently, often with a number of interruptions
7. Excellent oral and written communication skills
8. Proficient with office software (i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Publisher, Outlook)
9. Proficient with design software (Adobe Creative Suite, FastDraw)
10. Knowledge of ARMS and Teamworks
11. Knowledge of Scoutware (recruiting email software)
12. Knowledge of Prep Tracker (recruiting social media updates)
13. Knowledge of specific team policies and preferences in regards to team travel. Specific approaches to team logistics with the head coach's preferences
14. Knowledge of the game of basketball and how it relates to basketball operations and office protocol
15. Ability to work hours beyond the normal work schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays as required by team events and coaches' requests

This position requires work be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location.

Conditions of Appointment: This is a 100% University Staff Ongoing appointment. Salary will be assigned within the appropriate range, commensurate with the candidate's qualifications and experience. An excellent benefits package is also included.
