Position Summary:

Primarily reviews, approves, and advises on a variety of advanced financial transactions. May prepare some financial transactions and reconciles transactions. Recommends controls and process improvements, troubleshoots advanced financial errors. Maintains financial records, provides administrative processing support, and provides customer service for staff and customers in an assigned program area to support program financial management.

Work performed under the general supervision of the Assistant Administrator. Serves as UW Health Financial Specialist for the Department of Psychiatry. Using UW Health computer accounting software, generate reports, audits, processes, tracks and reconciles accounts payable and receivable activities of the department in accordance with UW Health financial rules and regulations. This position is responsible for preparing, maintaining, and processing invoices, expense reimbursements, and corporate card purchases, as well as being knowledgeable with financial databases and dashboards. This position will create and maintain Department reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis for organization and Department financial analyses. This position will also provide customer service to all Department faculty and staff. Training is necessary in UW Health purchasing policies and procedures and in data entry for requisition production, travel, CME and other reimbursements via Oracle software system as well as learning appropriate account coding.

Responsibilities for this position also includes the SMPH administrative/department purchasing card, and management of SMPH research lab purchasing cards as well as management of the SMPH replenishable checking accounts and temporary custodian accounts. This position will also serve as back up to SMPH Sr. Financial Specialist position.
