Centre College invites applications for a full time, tenure-track assistant professor of Theatre beginning August 2022. The successful candidate will hold a PhD or MFA, will specialize in performance pedagogy, and have a demonstrated track record of success as a director in a variety of genres. The successful candidate will be well-versed in core Stanislavskian methodologies and their contemporary offshoots. Additional areas of scholarship and interest such as mask-performance, vocal production, physical theatre as well as theater for social change, anti-racist theatre, gender studies, LGBTQ+ studies, and disability studies, are welcome and encouraged. This position will be responsible for the teaching of beginning and advanced courses in acting, directing, dramatic literature, and will direct one (or more) productions per year as part of the mainstage season. This position will also be expected to contribute to the college’s general education curriculum.
