Summary of Job Duties:The Academic Editor and Web Master is responsible for all official publications of the Office of Records and Registration and the Office of Transfer Student Services, including the Undergraduate Catalog and all associated web pages. The Academic Editor and Web Master also assists the Registrar and Director of Transfer Student Services in the preparation and editing of reports, proposals, web material, and other official documents issued by the offices to multiple audiences. This position will also be responsible for creating, editing and launching communication campaigns via Campaign Monitor and social media platforms. This position is governed by state and federal laws, and agency/institution policy.

Qualifications:

Required Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of two years of relevant work;

  • Expert level proficiency with MS Office Suite, desktop publishing software, and HTML.



Preferred Education and/or Experience

  • Masters degree in technical writing or a related field.



Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Effectively manages and edits Undergraduate Academic Catalog online portal including maintaining the catalog interface;

  • Implements efficient processes to exchange content with on-campus partners in a timely manner for the publication of the catalog annually;

  • Implements federal regulations/requirements, web standards and best practices to ensure that content is accessible, current and accurate for undergraduate catalog;

  • Serves as project lead for the catalog management software client-based maintenance and the key contact with the vendor;

  • Accurately edits official publications under the purview of the Registrar for Records and Registration and OTSS;

  • Regularly reviews and updates information based on state, federal, accreditation, and Faculty Senate policy changes;

  • Assists in the preparation and editing of reports, proposals, and other official documents for Records and Registration and Transfer Student Services (OTSS), including the preparation of graphics and design elements;

  • Prepares attractive and compelling promotional/instructional materials, and PowerPoint presentations for university messaging as needed;

  • Assists office staff in the creation, analysis, and synthesis of data needed for producing reports and recommendations;

  • Accurately researches internal and external policies and procedures along with regulations and laws concerning higher education;

  • Develops efficient methods to reach project goals by utilizing available resources to establish processes that benefit students, faculty and staff;

  • Connects students and users who utilize the online Undergraduate Catalog portal with the appropriate campus representative to serve their needs;

  • Effectively works on team projects by utilizing various products and strategies and prioritizing tasks through spreadsheets, scheduling, and task assignments;

  • Assesses and develops online communication needs;

  • Provides additional project support for Records and Registration and OTSS as directed;

  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Expert proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, desktop publishing software and HTML;

  • Ability to work a flexible work schedule to include evenings and weekends for commencement, open houses, and other events.



Salary Information:

$53,625.00
