Job Summary
Perform plain film imaging services to aid in the diagnoses, assessment, and treatment of disease or injury including fracture or foreign body of the skull, spine, chest, abdomen, and extremities. Assist the Quality Compliance Officer with any duties required within the Quality Assurance and Radiology purview.

Responsibilities
  • Perform related duties as assigned to support the mission of the University

Clinical
  • Oversee the daily operation of the radiology facility, equipment, and supplies
  • Manage patients requiring radiology services including transport to radiology room, instructions during the exam as to dressing, breathing, and manipulating body parts to be studied
  • Perform radiology studies in conformance with ARRT standards and radiation safety techniques
  • Utilize the PACS system for imaging and report transmission
  • Act as a liaison among the radiologists and Health Services providers to ensure accurate, timely radiology reports
  • Maintain safe and effective use of radiology equipment including daily start-up and shut down in accordance with recommended procedures
  • Make copies of radiology studies for patients as requested
  • Participate on committees within the department
  • Maintain confidentiality of all patient medical records
  • Follow all safety and other risk management policies in the performance of work
  • Maintain, repair, and clean tools, equipment, and work areas
  • Conduct annual in-services for GSU athletic training program students
  • Provide entrance screening when necessary, during pandemic conditions

Administrative
  • Perform insurance credentialing to ensure proper reimbursement
  • Perform AAAHC credentialing for providers and all clinical staff
  • Create, edit, and update Health Services policies and procedures within the Quality Assurance and Radiology purview
  • Prepare Monthly Health Services Newsletter to facilitate communication throughout the organization
  • Conduct monthly chart review
  • Perform active surveillance of processes and techniques for detection and prevention of disease, infection, and potential communicable infective sources
  • Schedule and assess annual mandatory Emergency Preparedness Drills
  • Assist the Nurse Manager with inventory
  • Represent Health Services at SAEM student recruitment events
  • Attend various industry conferences and training sessions to acquire up to date knowledge, skills, and abilities relating to continuous quality improvement initiatives

Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
  • Radiologic Technology diploma from an accredited program of Radiologic Technology

Other Required Qualifications
  • Maintenance of national certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • Current BLS CPR certification

Required Experience
  • Five (5) or more years of related work experience

Proposed Salary
$19.33 - $23.08 per hour
