The Associate Director supports University enrollment management
efforts and goals by developing and executing transfer recruitment
enrollment strategies, collaborating directly with community
college partners, and optimizing the transfer applicant
experience.
The Associate Director supports the development and implementation
of innovative and effective strategies, programs and policies to
ensure Portland State University meets enrollment goals. The
Associate Director’s collaborative work with community college
partners and personnel is aimed at ensuring the transfer applicant
experience is simple, transparent, and informative. This position
will have specific assignments related to student admission needs
and outreach as well as oversee assigned territories. This position
is expected to maintain and update transfer articulation agreements
collaboratively with academic departments and to ensure the success
of Portland State’s co-admission program.
The Associate Director supervises a team of transfer admission
counselors, and works collaboratively with admission counselors who
serve both high schools and community colleges. The Associate
Director will represent the University and its academic programs
and services to prospective students, families, college personnel,
partner institutions, and the general public. This position
requires evening and weekend work, and will include overnight
travel. Availability to work weekends when needed is required. The
Associate Director must have strong written and oral communication
skills. The ability to work with students from diverse backgrounds
and with varying exposure to higher education and institutions with
different policies and practices is required.
