Job Description:
The Director of Communications and Digital Engagement will lead the development and execution of an integrated plan to communicate Miami Dade College Foundations vision, mission and impact, raise the Foundations profile, and increase contributed revenue. The Director of Communications and Digital Engagement is responsible for defining and developing MDC Foundations multi-platform digital and social media strategy, driving execution, and using data-driven insights to improve all aspects of our online presence, directing the strategic development of our digital and social assets, and bringing best practices to the organization to increase alumni / donor engagement and fundraising. This position serves as a member of the senior management team.
Duties & Responsibilities:
•Works with Executive Director and senior management team,
develops and leads execution of institutional communication
strategy and messaging in order to produce visibility and presence
among alumni and donor constituencies
•Oversees the development of a comprehensive social media strategy
and communications plan to increase visibility, fans, traffic and
engagement to grow the MDC Foundation community across digital
channels, including leading the brands presence on Facebook,
Twitter, LinkedIn and other relevant social media
•Leads the development of an engaged digital community
•Prepares and implements a comprehensive media relations and
marketing plan for the MDC Foundation
•Oversees implementation of publications and printed materials for
the MDC Foundation
•Creates and maintains standards, policies and procedures for MDC
Foundation and Alumni websites
•Prepares and manages MDC Foundations communications budget
Minimum Requirements:
•Masters degree in marketing, communications, computer science or
related field of study and four (4) years of experience in content
and digital marketing; or Bachelors degree in marketing,
communications, computer science or related field of study and
eight (8) years of experience in content and digital
marketing
•Strong analytical skills: ability to understand and report
metrics, help establish engagement measurement methodology, and
analyze results. Demonstrated ability to use metrics to shape
strategy, tactics and editorial decisions
•Strong knowledge of SEO, SEM, re-targeted and programmatic
advertising and other key digital trends and tools, including
Google Analytics, Adwords and experience managing conversion and
lead scoring using these platforms
•Knowledge of HTML/CSS/JavaScript and web analytic platforms
•Experience driving acquisition and contributing to the growth of
existing constituents
