Cerritos Community College District is a comprehensive
single-campus district located in southeastern Los Angeles County
and serves approximately 22,000 students annually.
The Kinesiology division contains the departments of Athletics,
Dance, Kinesiology, and Physical Education. The division is
designed to give students the knowledge necessary to develop
lifestyles that will lengthen and enhance the quality of their
lives. The department of Athletics provides opportunities in 19
intercollegiate sports within the CCCAA and has a rich history of
success on the field and within the classroom.
ALL FACULTY SHALL:

ALL FACULTY WHO ARE ASSIGNED CLASSES SHALL:

Duties and Responsibilities
include, but not be limited to, leadership and supervision of
student in the athletic program and collaboration within the
division. Essential duties will include: recruiting, organization,
coordination and implementation of program needs. Coordinate and
communicate all aspects of instructional courses, practices and
competitions, organize team schedule for district approval,
coordinate team support efforts, equipment needs, supplies, travel
and transportation, as well as prepare and adhere to annual budgets
and timelines. Faculty member will adhere to district rules and
procedures, CCCAA constitution and Conference by-laws.
Any bachelor's degree or higher and two years of professional
experience, or any associate degree and six years of professional
experience. Professional experience is required when the applicant
possesses a master's degree. The professional experience required
must be directly related to the faculty member's teaching
Masters degree in Physical education, exercise science, education
with an emphasis in Physical education, kinesiology, physiology of
exercise or adaptive physical education or Bachelor's degree in any
of the above AND Master's degree in any life science, physiology,
health education, recreation administration, physical therapy; or
the equivalent; OR Valid California Community college instructor
credential in appropriate subject (per California Education Code
87355 issued prior to July 1, 1990.
Intercollegiate Soccer coaching experience, preferably head
coaching experience at the collegiate level. Demonstrated ability
in the leadership and advancement of a diverse population of
students. Principle assignment will be in coaching intercollegiate
soccer and instruction within those courses. Additional teaching in
the area of Kinesiology (health, PE, Activity, Kinesiology) will
apply for those that meet the minimum qualifications within the
discipline. Intercollegiate athletics is an academic and
co-curricular program at Cerritos College. Individuals hired will
serve as the head women's soccer coach under the direction of the
division dean and director of athletics.
