Position Summary:

The Enrollment Services/Admissions Assistant performs a full range of operations and administrative tasks in support of the Admissions Office at a Connecticut Community College. The College serves a diverse and complex student body which includes those pursing two-year liberal arts degrees, as well as those working for specialized occupational and career certifications. The position provides support in admissions advisement, including enrollment and curriculum information, to prospective and current students.

Incumbents must possess proven ability to effectively work with a culturally, linguistically, and ethnically diverse faculty, staff, and student. They are expected to have excellent oral and written communication skills along with strong Information technology literacy skills such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams etc.)

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in education, counseling, communication, or an appropriately related field; or a combination of education, training, and experience which would lead to the competencies required for successful performance of the position’s essential duties.

Successful Candidate must have or must possess:

  • Experience in office administration including competence in use of personal computers with word processing and spreadsheet software applications as well as College databases and processing programs.
  • Experience in advising students and applicants regarding academic courses appropriate for their preparation and career goals.
  • Knowledge and understanding of undergraduate academic enrollment requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • One (1) or more years’ experience in admissions, student recruitment, or a related field.
  • One (1) or more years’ experience in college databases and processing programs e.g., Banner and CRM Recruit.
Example of Job Duties:

Under the direction of the Director of Admissions, Enrollment Manager or other administrator, the Enrollment Services/Admissions Assistant is accountable for providing services that ensure the successful operation of student enrollment, admissions, and financial aid by effective performance in these essential functional areas:

  • Admissions process advising.
  • Enrollment administration.
  • Outreach and student recruitment.
  • Record keeping and reporting.
  • CSCU system operations training.
  • Collaboration with faculty and staff.


In addition to the accountabilities listed above, the incumbent is required to carry out the essential duties of: Attendance and participation at convocation and commencement ceremonies; Service on assigned committees and task forces; Attendance and participation at committee, staff, informational and professional meetings. These may involve attendance at evening or weekend events.

Starting Salary:

$49,048 approximate annual plus excellent State of CT medical insurance, retirement, and related fringe benefits.
