Position Summary

Trinity College has an opportunity for an Assistant/Associate Director of Human Resources for Talent Acquisition to join the Human Resources team. Reporting to the Assistant Vice President of Human Resources, the Assistant/Associate Director will ensure employee centered and effectively managed talent acquisition programs that form the foundation of an excellent experience for an evolving, diverse workforce.

We seek to have our staff reflect the changing demographics of our student body. Our student body is diverse, representing 41 states and 70 countries with 21% students of color and 50% women. Just over 90% of students live in campus residences. Trinity College is a highly selective, independent, nonsectarian liberal arts institution located in Connecticut’s capital, Hartford. With over 2100 full-time undergraduate students and 91 graduate students, the College maintains a rigorous academic profile complemented by a vibrant and diverse co-curricular program. Primary responsibilities
Through a consultative, agile approach, the Assistant/Associate Director will:

· Manage and support talent acquisition strategies, processes and activities in alignment with the College’s educational mission and diversity, equity and inclusion principles
· Establish recruitment strategies to attract, hire and retain talented and high performing employees
· Oversee and manage the College’s applicant tracking systems; develop, track, maintain, analyze and report talent acquisition metrics for decision making including time-to-hire and source of hire
· Assure prompt and professional communications with candidates and hiring managers to create positive candidate experiences
· Partner with, coach and train department managers on inclusive recruiting and candidate experience practices
· In consultation with hiring managers, set candidate sourcing, recruitment and review plans for specific vacancies including posting content and placement
· Identify appropriate print, digital and social media posting outlets for specific positions
· Coordinate and oversee appropriate and relevant visa applications
· Ensure effective new employee onboarding

Qualifications

Desired qualifications and experience


· Bachelor’s Degree; Masters’ Degree in human resources, administration or related area is a plus
· Five years of progressively responsible talent acquisition experience; higher education experience strongly preferred
· Knowledge and experience applying diversity, equity and inclusion principles into the recruitment and selection process
· Knowledge of employment and human resources related state and federal statutes and compliance requirements
· Knowledge of Human Resources management principles and practices
· Strong organizational and consultative skills
