The David F. Rankin College of Business at Southern Arkansas University invites applications for a non-tenure track Instructor of Accounting position beginning January 2022. The Rankin College of Business is accredited by AACSB International and offers conventional business degrees at the undergraduate level, as well as an MBA degree. Southern Arkansas University is the fastest growing university in Arkansas and is located in Magnolia in the southwestern part of the state.
Duties: Teach undergraduate courses in accounting, including Principles I & II and other accounting classes in one or more of the following areas: intermediate, managerial, financial, tax, auditing, governmental/non-profit, in a combination of traditional seated and online modalities; advise students; and provide service at the college and university level. The candidate will be expected to participate in professional engagement with the business community or actively engage in scholarly activity to maintain faculty qualification status as either Instructional Practitioner (IP) or Scholarly Practitioner (SP) according to our AACSB faculty qualifications policy.
Qualifications: MBA or appropriate Master’s degree in accounting or a related field required and have professional experience at the time of hire that is current, substantial in terms of duration (normally 3 years) and level of responsibility, and clearly linked to the primary area of teaching responsibility. Current CPA license or CPA eligible with commitment to complete or obtain CPA license required. Preferred consideration will be given to applicants with previous teaching experience at the college level.
