The overall duties of this position entail data collection, analysis, reporting that support decision-making. Under this general job function, the position specifically is responsible for:
1. Assist with Student Data Mart (SDM) submissions. The person in this position is one of the key member in SDM team and responsible for SDM data cleaning and submission to ensure data accuracy and integrity; the person should closely work with functional offices on testing and provide resolutions to fix errors.
2. Maintenance and integrity of institutional data and reports. The position requires working with large complex data sets from various data sources to maintain a coherent system using institutional knowledge and information system, such as monitor the weekly enrollment report, respond ad hoc requests and surveys, and update Common Data Set and Facebook.
3. Assist with SQL/SAS Programming. The person will write or modify SQL/SAS queries to extract and combine data, and document data location. S/he will work with large complex data sets, merge current with historical records, and manipulate data to report to federal, state, UNC system, associated agencies, and internal community.
4. Maintain and visualize institutional data using Tableau.
5. Other duties as assigned (not limit to), such as maintain and update IR website and assist with office licenses renewal and purchasing orders.
Required Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Statistics, or related technical degree from an appropriately accredited institution; · Experience in using Tableau or other visualization tool; · Experience in writing SQL/SAS scripts to perform data queries and produce reports; · Pay attention to details; · Well communication for the interpretation of graphic data.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in a technical discipline such as computer science, information technology, or management information systems; or a master’s degree in a non-analytical field with two or more years of relevant experience;
- Experience in institutional research;
- Experience related to data analytics.
