POSITION SUMMARY:



The ESL/ELL Career Services Associate (ECSA will provide a full range of career advising and administrative tasks in support of the Center for ESL/ELL students enrolled in Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs. The ECSA will help students develop career readiness skills and locate employment opportunities within the field of their chosen degree programs .

Community College Professionals are expected to have excellent oral and written communication skills along with strong Information technology literacy skills such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, etc.)



MINIMUM
QUALIFICATIONS:




A Bachelor’s degree in an appropriately related field with one (1) or more years of experience and includes two (2) years of teaching and coaching students in these populations; or a combination of education, training, and experience which would lead to the competencies required for successful performance of the position’s essential duties.
The successful candidate must have experience, knowledge, and abilities in the following:

  • Career advising and career planning assessments.
  • Student advising and helping students overcome traditional barriers to career and technical education.
  • Working with English-language learners and underserved and underprepared populations.
  • Experience with WebEx Zoom and Career Services Management Software.
  • Social Media (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter) and Website Management.

PREFERRED

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Four (4) of related experience.
  • Fluency or proficiency in Spanish


EXAMPLE OF JOB DUTIES:



Under the direction of the Language Coordinator, t he ESL/ELL Career Services Associate is responsible for providing career coaching and counseling to ESL/ELL students matriculated in Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs; providing resume preparation, interviewing skills, financial literacy, and job search skills instruction with an emphasis on the specific supports needed by ESL/ELL students; establishing individualized career development plans for students and monitor their progress; Identifying employment opportunities associated with the designated degree programs for ESL/ELL students; coordinating employer information sessions.

STARTING WAGE:



$32.14 hourly.
