Position Purpose: The Simulation Technology Specialist will oversee the technical operations of the Simulation Center, assist the nursing lab and simulation staff with the day to day operations of the simulation center. This will include the patient simulators, servers, audio-visual equipment, simulation capture system, and simulation software programs. They will be responsible for the operation, troubleshooting and maintenance of all IT-related hardware and software. The Specialist will also serve as the chief liaison between the Nursing Simulation Center and the University’s Information Technology Department.

Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or healthcare related field.
- Ability to set priorities, and work on multiple projects simultaneously, in a fast paced environment.
- Demonstrate excellent organizational, interpersonal and written communication skills
- The person selected for this role must maintain confidentiality and discretion when handling student files and personal student information.
- Flexibility and adaptability to work varying schedules and hours including evenings and weekends if necessary.
- Position will require moderate lifting and carrying of manikin and supplies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft software applications including Word, Excel and Power Point, and the Internet
- Experience in the operation, installation, trouble-shooting, and maintenance of computer networks and audio visual systems in an academic and/or healthcare related field is a plus.
- Experience with networked systems, including wireless networks. The successful incumbent will also have experience in providing technical assistance, including the ability to express technical information effectively to non-technical persons is a plus.
