Broadband Posting
Reviews and negotiates all research contracts and subcontracts, sub awards and ancillary agreements to ensure compliance with UH policies and procedures. Provides contract guidance to researchers during the funding acquisition process.Job Duties
- Reviews, negotiates, and executes all research prime and sub awards with federal, state, and other third party non-profit and for-profit entities in accordance with UH policies and procedures.
- Works with the Office of Intellectual Property Management regarding IP related matters as required.
- Drafts, negotiates and reviews research related ancillary documents and correspondence with third party entities regarding contractual issues with pre- and post-awards.
- Analyzes, revises and updates research contract and agreement structures; determines the legal implications and ensures compliance with evolving trends and needs.
- Interprets university procedures and appropriate governmental regulations regarding research contract activities in complex areas, including federal acquisition regulation clauses and export control issues.
- Assists senior level administrators in designing, structuring and/or evaluating proposed research contracts.
- Provides contractual guidance to faculty and research staff in securing research funding for pre-awards and proper funding for post-awards; leads lower level research contracts officers.
- Performs other job-related duties as required.

Bachelors and 5-7 years experience
Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed. Requires a minimum of seven (7) years of directly job-related experience.
