The salary range for this position is $41,200 – $51,500. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based upon a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, education, experience, specialty, and training.

The Business Graduate Student Service Specialist serves as the primary advisor for enrolled business graduate students. The primary role is to support CBUS graduate programs by working collaboratively with the assistant director of CBUS graduate studies, the University’s marketing and communications department, admissions department, and any other appropriate departments to ensure a consistent and accurate message regarding the CBUS graduate programs is being disseminated. The Specialist will also create and maintain communications with prospective and existing students and generally provides supports to the assistant director of the CBUS graduate programs.

IND208 Duties/Responsibilities
(50%) Advises students with regards to their academic and career needs and to additional campus professional support such as faculty and career services; implements a proactive and developmental student advisement model; creates and maintains accurate and student-friendly advising sheets, website resources and other documents to support students; and coordinates and is involved at various student events and activities that work to instill a positive and supportive environment for graduate students.

(20%) Implements outreach and recruiting activities using available university resources, on and off campus; coordinates and participates in various facets of the recruiting program including on-campus visitation events, informational sessions, career fairs, graduate school fairs, site visits, and networking events; provides admissions counseling and academic planning to prospective students; and conducts targeted follow-up communications (email, phone, web, social media, and text) with prospective students from initial contact through enrollment into a program.

(10%) Executes an advertising and marketing plan to increase the internal and external exposure of graduate degrees offered through the CBUS ; and maintains and distributes promotional materials relevant to the plan including but not limited to brochures, flyers, postcards, and newsletters.

(10%) Keeps data in relation to, but not limited to, current students, students’ status in a program, program compliance and non-compliance, and demographic information as applicable; and reports accurate data to the Dean’s Office, Department Chairs, Business Graduate Program Committee and others as requested to support effective decision-making and strategic planning.

(10%) Assists the Assistant Director of CBUS Graduate Programs with general program support as needed. Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Professional work experience providing customer service within a higher education setting
  • Ability to work effectively independently, as well as with a team

  • Master’s degree
  • 2-5 years work experience recruiting students in higher education
  • 2-5 years work experience in higher education providing customer service in a professional environment
  • Proficiency in a student data management system such as Banner
  • Demonstrated skills in writing and creating marketing and promotional materials (or related items) and using social media in a professional manner
  • Experience leading informational sessions or workshops
