Position Summary


The Project Manager/IT Product Analyst (PM-PA) works collaboratively with CSCC staff throughout the product lifecycle, particularly through the evaluation phase (testing, verifying, vetting) of learning content (assignments, assessments, software guides, etc.) in the IT Certificate Programs/courses. The PM-PA supports tight integration within the content development lifecycle, especially in the evaluation phase, to ensure on-time delivery of accurate and effective content in the IT Certificate Programs/courses. When
courses are underway, the PM-PA coordinates troubleshooting with CSCC staff (product owners, designers, and SMEs) to resolve software and technical issues to support student success. The PM-PA will be expected to provide consistent, timely, and accurate communication between parties involved in various Software Development Life Cycle content redesigns to facilitate efficient progress on such projects.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:


Project Management

Manages projects designed to enhance program content by overseeing SME work, tracking schedules and resource usage, and reporting progress regularly to management. Actively participates as part of the Workforce Innovation project team to create deliverables and complete project tasks. Establishes agreement with SMEs on due dates, cost, and quality expectations, and works with Budget Coordinator to prepare necessary work documentation and agreements between parties. Monitors SME performance and activity completion. Develops work plan options for decision makers. Monitors the decision-making process and makes changes in project planning documents as necessary.

Technical Analysis and Support

Evaluates SME deliverables by testing all content for consistency with existing content and pedagogy, and by learning new IT tools, techniques, and software design principles during each project. Inspects SME deliverables to validate completion of requirements. Identifies project technical issues that require resolution and maintains an issues list for each course. Escalates issues for resolution when appropriate. Assists in content creation enabling the use of learning aids, virtual systems, instructional videos, or other
identified methods that will enhance the learning delivery methods.

Student Support

Provides a supportive and inclusive environment for students in NC IT courses to facilitate on-time completion of coursework, resolution of course content problems, and assistance in routing non-content student issues to the appropriate parties. Participate in Workforce course reviews and debriefs to inform recommendations for content revisions/additions to provide relevant learning experiences for students. Works with IT support staff to resolve student software issues during active classes. Monitors and answers individual student technical concerns during active classes.

Collaboration


Works with multiple departments across campus to determine non-credit, IT related needs. Provides feedback and options based on system constraints. Provides support for program implementation.

Other Duties & Responsibilities

Attends all required department meetings and training. Works a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and overtime (extended hours) as required and approved to meet workload demands. Performs other related duties as required.

Usual Physical Requirements

The employee regularly exhibits digital dexterity when entering data into computer, frequently sits for extended periods of time, and regularly stands and walks to provide functional coordination for a few work units. Employee occasionally reaches with hands or arms and stoops, kneels, crouches or crawls. Employee converses verbally with others in person and by telephone. Vision demands include close, detailed vision when focusing on computer screen. Employee occasionally lifts or exerts force up to 10 pounds.

Knowledge of: software development, data analytics, and/or cybersecurity software, processes, and industry practices; best practices in project management, including follow-up and follow-through techniques.


Skill in: excellent verbal and written communication; effective and inclusive oral and written communication skills to respect individuals whose first language is not English (FLNE) and individuals learning English (ELL or EL); planning, scheduling, and organizing work; self-paced learning of new technology skills; programming in variety of software such as Python, Java, or R; problem solving and analytical thinking; application of office software including word processing and spreadsheets .


Ability to: learn new software tools and techniques with each new project; demonstrate outstanding communication skills with students, staff, and administrators; develop and maintain effective working relationships with associates, vendors, students, and general public; be responsive to changes in project priorities; manage and prioritize multiple, complex projects involving a number of creative and technical individuals; coordinate multiple activities and tasks; exhibit flexibility in work schedule and job tasks; maintain confidential and sensitive information; use good judgement when making decisions; demonstrate excellent listening skills; lead and/or participate in collaborative work as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science or related field with at least three (3) years of industry experience. An appropriate combination of education, training, coursework and experience may qualify a candidate. State Motor Vehicle Operator's License or demonstrable ability to gain access to work site(s).

Preferred Qualifications: Software development/project management experience. Curriculum design experience.
