About the Opportunity:

GSK Oncology is committed to the discovery and development of new and potentially life-changing therapies for patients with cancer. Our vision is for people with cancer to not only live, but to live well, because we are delivering innovative and transformational medicines. GSK's approach to oncology is focused on novel research in the areas of immuno-oncology, tumor cell targeting, oncology cell therapy, and synthetic lethality. Coupled with extensive mentorship opportunities provided by the GSK Oncology Global Scientific Communications Fellowship Program, the fellow will work in conjunction with the Global Medical Affairs team to help support this mission and vision.

The Pharmacy Postdoctoral Fellow will join the Global Oncology Scientific Communications team for a two-year commitment, where they will be immersed in all Global Medical Affairs activities. The focus of the fellowship will be in Scientific Communications with an initial three-month rotation with the Global Scientific Communications team. The fellow will then participate in three consecutive rotations in various Global Medical Affairs functions for a duration of three months per rotation, while continuing to support the Global Scientific Communications team with 30% of their capacity. GSK Oncology offers an array of Global Medical Affairs rotations, including, but not limited to: Medical Information, Scientific/Medical Director's Office, Publications, Program Strategy, Early Innovation and Medical Strategy, and Medical Affairs Research. Additionally, the fellow has the opportunity to learn about various industry functions such as Value Evidence & Outcomes, Clinical Development, or the Commercial Organization through longitudinal projects. Rotations may be extended at the discretion of the rotation supervisor. The remaining one year of the fellowship will be fully dedicated to Global Scientific Communications activities.

Responsibilities:

Global Scientific Communications:
Example Job Responsibilities, includes but are not limited to:

Contribute to overall Global Medical Training plan, including oversight and delivery of internal training materials for MSL/Medical affairs use

Create core Global Medical Materials and tools for internal and external communication (e.g. trial in progress decks and Medical/Pipeline congress training materials

Contribute to externally facing meetings such as GSK-led Medical Education activities, advisory boards, satellite symposia, and investigator broadcasts

Plan and execute quarterly cross-functional Medical Communications Workshops to ensure alignment on Scientific Communications and Publications strategy and tactics

Plan and execute cross-functional Scientific Platform Working Group sessions to ensure alignment on interpretations of individual datasets/collections of data and flawless integration of new datasets into asset Scientific Platforms

Qualifications:

Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an ACPE accredited institution, eligible for licensure as a pharmacist in the State of Massachusetts.


Preferred Qualifications:

Excellent oral and written communication, time management, and leadership skills, ability to work independently and take initiative on a variety of projects at the industry site and Northeastern.
